Gina loses via TKO at the end of Round 1

It was a slugfest early on, but ultimately, Cyborg’s strength and wrestling ability proved to be too much for Gina, getting the TKO ground and pound victory just a split-second before the bell rang at the end of Round 1. This makes Cris “Cyborg” Santos the first women’s Strikeforce champion. Some say the stoppage was controversial due to it being stopped at the bell, but Gina was not defending herself well and the ref did wave off the round before the bell rang.
