The Haywire movie reviews are out and most of them are positive.
Rollingstone.com:
Into the cinematic dead zone of January comes Haywire to kick off the new movie year on a sexy action high.
Tri-cityherald.com:
Move over Angelina Jolie. Machismo feminine style got an upgrade. Gina Carano is beautiful. Built and bad. I’m totally in love. And guys, I don’t think I’m alone here.
Three Movie Buffs:
Hey Hollywood, here’s your Wonder Woman!
Real.com:
Carano and Soderbergh have actually created a possible franchise in the character – like a tangible Lara Croft…
Hollywood.com:
Having grown accustomed to waif-like “action heroines,” it’s refreshing to witness an actress who can deliver a knockout blow – and take one – with some credulity.
Salon.com :
“Haywire” is a lean, clean production, shot and edited by Soderbergh himself and utterly free of the incoherent action sequences and overcooked special effects that plague similarly scaled Hollywood pictures.
Thereeldeal.co :
Gina Carano is the real deal, holding her own against male counterparts like Channing Tatum, Michael Fassbender, and Antonio Banderas, and giving Haywire a whole lot of punch.
Rotten Tomatoes Gives it “Certified Fresh” 82% Rating:

In the wake of  former Strikeforce 145lb. women’s champion, Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Santos, testing positive for steroid usage, MMA luminary and previous opponent Gina Carano, has magnanimously responded with: sympathy, compliments, benefit of doubt and well-wishes. While the scandal “stung” Carano (who “could’ve gone her whole life without knowing that news“) she responded with the following:
-“…that could just be somebody around her giving her bad advice.”
-“…She’s definitely a physical specimen who doesn’t need any performance enhancements, and still be as just as great as she is, maybe even better.”
-“…She’s gonna have to deal with alot…as far as earning back people’s trust…She’s suspended for a year and the title is stripped from her; that’s enough punishment.”
-“I sympathize with her, and feel bad for her. She’s not a bad person…she’ll allow this experience to make her a better person.”
-“She’s so sweet. I loved going to the Espy’s (award show with Cyborg also present)…I don’t have a mean thing to say about her. Her and her husband are darling people.” (source: No Holds Barred Radio with Eddie Goldman, Inside MMA with Bas Rutten)
While many in the mma community have expressed zero surprise that Santos was caught, one has been particularly contentious – Strikeforce 135lb #1 contender and  Olympic Judo medalist, Ronda Rousey. In response to Rousey’s public chastisement, Cris Cyborg posted the following heavily edited picture of a just defeated Gina Carano, along with a challenge to fight upon her suspension return.

Ronda Rousey is one of the many fighters that have recognized Carano’s ability and big contribution to the Sport. While she has had minimal contact with Carano, she answered Santos with the following Twitter response:

One has to wonder if Cris Cyborg has any fans left as both her career accomplishments and character have undeniably been exposed.

*update
On Monday, April 9th, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos was denied a leniency appeal to CSAC to cut her suspension time in half (6 months) by the Regulatory Board.(MMAWeekly.com)
That reduction attempt contradicts Santos’ initial statement on the matter.
“I am ultimately responsible for everything I put in my body, and at the end of the day, there is no excuse for having a prohibited substance in my system,” the disgraced fighter continued. “I do not condone the use of any performance enhancing drugs by myself or any other professional athlete, and willingly accept the penalties and fines that have been handed down to me by […]
