Nick Diaz Booted From UFC 137
Tweet
In what looks to be a historic move, the UFC has actually canceled the superfight of Nick Diaz vs St Pierre UFC 137 due to Diaz not making certain press conferences.
The strange round of events have been unfolding today. There was a rumor that Diaz was in a plane crash. Later Diaz’s business manager made a post via twitter
Twitter @JasonManly
@EllenbergerMMA @kcbanditmma his plane crashed bro have some respect! He’s safe and back training though…
This wasn’t true and later confirmed that it was meant to be a joke towards Jake Ellenberger and KCbantimma
At the UFC 137 press conference, Dana announced that St. Pierre would be facing Carlos Condit and that Diaz may be released. Dana White also questioned if Diaz would even show up to fight at UFC 137.
I would have to assume that, yes, we’re probably going to let him go, but we’ll see what happens.
St. Pierre was stunned by the news and thought that this was possibly an elaborate prank.
Later today, Diaz fired back by posting a video on Youtube claiming that UFC was trying to block Diaz’s ambitions to move into boxing which is why he was offered the Pierre fight in the first place.
UFC other big moves have been the recently signed Alistair Overeem and Cris “Cyborg” Santos resigned with Strikeforce late August.
Update Sept 8th:
Now its confirmed Diaz will fight BJ Penn at UFC 137 and Penn’s original opponent Carlos Condit, will still be fighting Pierre.

“I could have been in their shoes,” said Griffin. “I had a chance to work with Boys Town a couple of times for the UFC and learning about the kids down there and what their situations were, I could relate. Growing up my parents got locked up and I was in foster care for a little bit and I could really relate to those kids and understand what they’re going through and what the situation is. I was one of those kids back in the day and I just want to really give back based on the situations I came from and help those kids understand that it doesn’t really matter where you come from that you can still come out on top.”
certain MMA fans on Gina Carano
Tweet
Rich Davie, a Gina Carano fan, recently made an epic post in our forum and on his website about arguments and counter arguments for Gina’s critics.
There are some critics and nay sayers of the lovely Gina Carano (who is the “Face of Women’s MMA”) when it comes to her MMA skills that’s unwarranted in my opinion.
The most common argument that some MMA fans like to throw around to demean and minimize her as an MMA fighter is that Gina has done nothing in her MMA career and is nothing more than a “pretty face” who is not even worth watching as an MMA fighter.
These same individuals like to defend male MMA fighters of their liking who have fought minimally talented fighters as well, but offer up the explanation that the particular division they were or are fighting in is or was way too thin at the time, but at least they took on whatever fighters they were matched-up against.
Apparently to these individuals this argument is only valid when applied to male fighters.
I say bullshit… the argument for minimally talented / thin divisions is indeed a valid one, but if this mindset is acceptable when applied to male MMA fighters than it needs to be evenly applied across the board to female fighters as well.
