Gina Carano Joins the Cast of the Female Expendables Movie

Gina Carano who’s recent movies include Haywire and Fast & Furious 6 is set to join the cast of a female version of “The Expendables”. Adi Shankar’s production company has already written the script for the movie.  He is quoted as saying,

“I don’t know how I’m supposed to make a movie that is supposed to be the female version of ‘The Expendables’ without Gina Carano in it. It would be like making Twix without caramel or Jamba Juice without jamba.”

Adi Shankar recently co-produced hit movies such as “The Grey,” “Pete Travis” and “Dredd 3D. There is already an established history of action movies with female leads producing over $100 million+ at the box office which include movies such as Snow White and the Huntsman, Hunger Games, Salt, Charlie’s Angels and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. With the market right now red hot for female action movies, it’s likely this movie will be produced as planned.  Gina has a busy schedule over the next several months with “In the Blood” set to shoot sometime later this year.
