Gina Carano was recently asked a question and answer session while she posed once again for Maxim. Here is what was said:

Gina Carano Maxim 2009

CEO Scott Coker: 50/50 Chance of Carano vs Cyborg on April 11th

Posted by: Jen on February 12, 2009

Strikeforce CEO, Scott Coker, said in a recent interview that there is a 50/50 chance of the fight happening on April 11th’s card:

So how likely is it that Carano vs. Cyborg will take place on the April 11 card in San Jose, which is headlined by a main event of Frank Shamrock vs. Nick Diaz? Coker said it’s a 50% chance.

“My gut feeling right now is we have a shot at it, and it’s 50-50,” Coker said. “She’d have to sign, start training camp and get going, but I think there’s a 50-50 shot we can make it happen. This first fight card, we’re promoting it as the greatest card in the history of Strikeforce. I think we’ve had some good fights in our history, so we have to deliver.”

Keep in mind that Gina’s contract is still under negotiations as of this interview and there is no guarantee that she will sign with Strikeforce. Coker imay be CEO, but he is also a longtime promoter, so that 50/50 figure may be a little optimistic.
